What is an Apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is employment where you follow a structured programme, earn a wage and work alongside experienced staff to gain job specific skills. Apprentices gain nationally recognised qualifications, mostly through working on the job and assessment in the workplace, possibly supplemented by attendance at college on a day release basis.
