Free College Transport Launched for September
Published: March 24, 2017
Students travelling to study with us from September 2017 will receive free transport in a brand new sustainability scheme.
All 16-19 year old students enrolled on a full-time course will be eligible to access free transport to and from College throughout the full academic year. Due to the popularity of this initiative the College would encourage students to complete their travel application as soon as possible to secure their place.
Students currently travel to the Crewe-based campus through a variety of methods including College Coach Service, Public Services and County Council Transport Services.
Over 1,500 learners use the College Transport Service, which from September 2017 will continue to run, free of charge.
Celebrating over 20 years of outstanding results, we offer a range of A Level and Vocational full-time programmes for 16-19 year olds.
The College’s £74 million campus provides world class training and social facilities for students to aid their learning.
Director of Advice, Admissions and Marketing, Mike Finney, said: “Following the increase in College applications, we are delighted to be able to offer all students studying with us in the next academic year free transport to College. It makes studying on one of our range of courses even more accessible.
“After consulting with the College’s Student Council, the feedback received indicated that the cost of transport was in some case a significant barrier for continuing in education. By removing this barrier, we envisage this service to be very popular and therefore encourage anybody who hasn’t yet applied to do so quickly.”
We take our responsibility to sustainability extremely seriously and are proud to have won a ‘Smarter Ways to Travel’ award for previous initiatives of promoting alternative methods of transport as part of their commitment to improving health and wellbeing.
Secure bike shelters have also been installed on the College campus and changing facilities for walkers and cyclists.
