School Liaison Service

Our School Liaison Team is committed to working with schools in Cheshire, Staffordshire and Shropshire. We offer a variety of activities to enable pupils to find out about their own future and options available when they leave school.

We can come and visit your school to deliver a wide range of sessions to ensure pupils are familiar with what is available to them.

We are able to give a short presentation suitable for an assembly that explains to pupils the opportunities offered at South Cheshire College.

This can be developed into a class based workshop to provide pupils in-depth information. We can cover courses, entry requirements, student life and the support available.

We can also give pupil advice on completing application forms and the guidance interview process.

We are happy to support your school by attending these events and offering information, advice and guidance to pupils and their parents from years 8 through to 11.
A specialist subject tutor can visit school to run a session covering a particular subject area. They can give information and guidance about course content, career opportunities and progression routes. This can include an interactive workshop.
We run information sessions to support Careers Advisors and those with Careers and Guidance responsibilities in school.
We can arrange for small groups or individuals to come and visit SCC and find out more about the campus and the courses. This gives pupils the opportunity to experience what it’s like to be a student at SCC.
If pupils are interested in a particular subject and would like to know more we can arrange for them to get some hands on experience. This can be by joining an appropriate class or attending an interactive workshop (taster session). Sessions are dependent on group size and subject area staff availability.
At South Cheshire College we are happy to accommodate pupils on work experience where we have the capacity. Please go through normal school procedures to request placements.

We are always interested in how we can support the transition from school to college so if you have any suggestions please get in touch. Most of the sessions are appropriate for years 10 and 11 and can be adapted for years 8 and 9.
